The heat of August combined with afternoon thunderstorms makes for beautiful photo opportunities. The following photos were taken as a thunderstorm started moving into the basin at a lookout area on Mt. Rose Highway. Photos were taken by Greg Righellis on 8/1/17.
If you'd like to experience this beautiful look out, you can access it by turning up Mt. Rose Hwy (NV State Route 431) from Hwy 28. The lookout will be on your right hand. Continue a little further and you can experience the Tahoe Meadows area which offers great hiking and biking opportunities.
