Mt. Rose Trail takes you to the Mt. Rose Summit. Mt. Rose is the 2nd highest mountain in the Lake Tahoe Basin and has the highest Tahoe Basin peak in Nevada. If you're not looking for a full day hike, you can enjoy the 2.5 mile loop to the waterfall. For the full experience and the sweeping views of Lake Tahoe, continue up another 3.5 miles to the summit. The trail is very busy on the weekends so you might want to give it a try midweek for a more private experience.
To access the trailhead, go towards Incline Village and take Hwy 431 to Mt. Rose Highway. Park at the trailhead located one mile south of the summit.
