The West Shore of Lake Tahoe is a locals favorite, and as they say, "The West Shore is the Best Shore." Starting from the wye in Tahoe City, the West Shore of Lake Tahoe extends all the way down to Rubicon; including the West side of Tahoe City and the smaller communities of Tahoe Pines, Chamberlands, Homewood, Tahoma, and Meeks Bay. The West Shore is home to some of Tahoe's most scenic beaches including D.L. Bliss and Sugar Pine Point State Parks.
Although the West Shore of Lake Tahoe is comprised of several small communities, it offers plenty to do with easy access to everything that makes Tahoe so great. There are plenty of beaches, hiking and biking trails, Homewood Ski Resort, and it's all connected by a bike path that takes you from Sugar Pine Point State Park all the way to Tahoe City where you can go into town or make a left at the Truckee River and head down to Olympic Valley, home to the Squaw Valley Resort.
